I'm very laid back and I am not one for too many rules but I have to point out the following.
1. Be wary of copyright infringement, if in doubt pm me and I'll make a quick decision.
2. Always be polite and please do not upset fellow posters. In text it is quite easy to upset someone even if there is no intent.
3. Please try to remember this is ancestry and not immediate family, others may not be too happy posting messages on the living or recently deceased. By all means be vague if you can when dealing with the recent.
4. Please do not offer look ups from fee paying sites, many of these sites protect their interests.
5. Under no circumstances post anything of an "adult" nature, I'm sure there are sites for that.
6.Of course politics and religion had a part in our ancestry and this is fine to discuss......this does not mean personal arguments.
Let's be polite and patient with one another.

Thomas Caffrey/Caffry was my grt. grandfather who came to British Columbia, Canada about 1857 from County Louth. I have a letter sent to Thomas dated and signed "Patrick McCulla P.P, Annagason" confirming Thomas's baptism 6th June 1836.His father is listed as Patrick and his mother, Anne Craven. The return address on this letter is "Whitrath Cottage, Dromiskin, Castlebellingham, 15th Nov. 1874". I will be heading to Ireland for the first time in Sept. and was wondering if anyone has information on the Caffery's or suggestions for me. Thank you, Irene Owens
